Chargers Go Cold Late in Loss to Skyhawks

GALESBURG — A cold fourth quarter cost the Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team in a 63-52 Arrowhead Conference loss to Sauk Valley on Monday night at John M. Lewis Gymnasium.

KEY MOMENTS
• The Chargers (2-13, 0-2) opened the second quarter with 12 of the first 17 points to take their largest lead of the game at 32-20. Sandburg went into the break with a 39-28 advantage.
• Sandburg led 52-46 with 8:00 left in the fourth after a 3-pointer from Emily Cash (Yates City, Ill./Farmington), but Sauk Valley closed the game with a 15-0 run from that point on.

SANDBURG STANDOUT
Freshman guard Abbey Donaldson (Bushnell, Ill./Bushnell-Prairie City) hit three 3s and scored a season- and team-high 13 points for the Chargers. Donaldson also had three rebounds, three assists and a steal.
